The Best Rock & Pop Punk Album Artwork, Artists

Let’s take a look at the best Rock & Pop Punk album artwork, artists!

Let’s face it, when a band you love brings out their new album, you get hold of your physical or digital copy and can’t wait to play it. You might spend a couple of seconds looking at the artwork but your real focus is the music. I wanted to look into the artists behind these amazing pieces of art. The people that spent countless hours working to create the masterpiece surrounding the music.

I bring you the best rock & pop punk album artwork, artists.

Mike Giant

Mike designed the artwork for Blink 182’s, 2011 album Neighborhoods. The design features a skyline with Blink 182 written in the rooftops, it has lots of hidden “nods” to friends and family of both blink members and Mike.

Born in 1971 in upstate New York, artist Mike Giant began drawing as soon as he could hold a crayon. He began writing graffiti under the name ìGiantî just before starting college and got his first tattoo soon after. In 1998, Mike was offered an apprenticeship in tattooing by Nalla Smith. He began tattooing full-time a year or so later and worked in legendary shops like East Side Ink, Newskool and Everlasting. Mike made tattoos full-time for a decade before switching his attention to REBEL8, a clothing brand he founded in 2003.

Drew Millward

Drew designed the artwork for what I think is the best album by Set Your Goals. I love this design, the fine details, the colours and the subject.

Drew Millward was born in 1981 in Coventry; he grew up in Bolton, studied and lived in Leeds for many years and now lives in a quarry in the Aire Valley. Drew likes to draw ëthe old fashioned wayí, using pencils, pens and a love of the craft of illustration. He has exhibited throughout the US, UK, Europe and beyond, as well as having the pleasure of creating work for an ever growing international client base.

Dan Mumford

Dan has designed artwork for many of my favorite bands, A Day To Remember, Set Your Goals, Parkway Drive and Gallows to name a few. One of the best is the A Day To Remember, Homesick album artwork. The detail in this design is incredible.

Over the past 10 years, Dan has worked within the pop culture and music scene creating everything from album covers, branding and screenprint’s to new interpretations of classic film posters and albums. Clients include Disney, Sony, Iron Maiden, Wizards of the Coast, Icon Motoports, CBS and many many bands and record labels from around the world.

Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey designed the album cover for the band Smashing Pumpkins. This features the world famous style that Shepard has created over the years. Using black and red with large solid sections of colour, distinct lines and symmetrical patterns, it’s easy to identify his work at a glance.

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, he first became known for his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” (ÖOBEYÖ) sticker campaign while attending the Rhode Island School of Design. His work is included in the collections at The Smithsonian, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C

This is just four of the many artists around the world creating fantastic album artwork. Check out some of their other work, you wont be disappointed.
